The Tripsdrill Theme Park, at over 90 years old, is one of the oldest theme parks in Germany and still attracts visitors from near and far with diverse attractions. The theme of the park is “Swabia in 1880”, which can clearly be seen in the design of the rides: For example, there are carts in the shape of bathtubs, flaps, and ring cakes. The landmark of the park is the “Altweibermühle” (Old Woman’s Mill), where old woman are “made young” again, according to an old legend.
One of the newer highlights at Tripsdrill is the “Mammut” wooden rollercoaster, in which visitors clatter through a giant sawmill at over 80km/h. Even in the waiting area, there are a number of historical exhibition pieces from all over Germany to see, which make the attraction’s themed world complete. In July 2013, the “Karacho” catapult rollercoaster was also opened – it is considered one of the most spectacular in Germany and ensures an adrenaline rush with four different loops, sections in the dark, and special effects.
Tripsdrill is the perfect location for a family excursion and is plenty of fun for both young and old. The entry price also includes admission to the Tripsdrill Wildlife Park, where around 40 animal species live in partially open-air enclosures on an area of over 47 hectares. Species include Arctic wolves, bears, European wolves, lynxes, wildcats, and red foxes.
Tripsdrill Theme Park and Wildlife Park are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the current season, while shorter opened times may apply in the next season. In winter, the Wildlife Park is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
